Epic finale: former assassin gets second chance at love and tries to hold on to it with everything
After years spent in pursuit of vengeance against those that are responsible for getting his wife and son killed, Spetsnaz operative turned assassin, Peter Sokolov, gets a second chance at love. After realizing that his Sara can never be happy living on the run, forever separated from her parents and friends, unable to practice medicine, Peter takes on one last dangerous job and makes a deal with devil that gets him off the FBI’s most wanted list and allows him to return to the US. Even though this means foregoing part of his revenge, he loves Sara more and wants to give her the life she yearns for. So after he has put a ring on her finger, he turns himself into a model citizen, giving up his predilection of solving problems with violence (mostly), is a supportive husband, a passionate and insatiable lover and a considerate son-in-law (the way he is with Sara's parents is endearing). But after some months of suburban bliss, an enemy from Peter’s past strikes unexpectedly and Sara’s life is once more turned upside down, only this time she isn’t going to let go of Peter…This is the forth and final book in Sara and Peter’s unconventional and tumultuous love story and it also brings back Nora and Julian (Twist Me trilogy) and Yulia and Lucas (Capture Me trilogy) whose lives and stories have intersected with Sara and Peter’s before. I hope I don’t give too much away by saying there is a HEA of sorts, even though the slight possibility of further stories in the high-octane world of international espionage and mercenary work is implied. The story is told in first person narrative alternating between Sara’s/Peter’s point of view which adds immediacy and lets us see into the psyche of the two main protagonists. It also helps to humanize Peter’s often over-the-top protectiveness and lets us see the struggles both Sara and Peter go thru coming to terms with their feelings regarding their rather unconventional relationship. After Julian I didn’t believe Anna Zaires could create an anti-hero that could top him, but I do think I love Peter even more. Because for all his ruthlessness he is the perfect dark romance hero: driven, scarred by his past, possessing a honed body he knows how to use in a fight as well as in the bedroom, and aside from being good with his hands he also knows how to cook. Sara, the heroine, is no pushover, but herself at least as driven as Peter and well-established in her profession (which she isn’t going to give up for him). So I not only love them individually, but also how well they balance each other out as a couple.Aside from writing great dark romance that grips you and doesn’t let you go I also love how Anna Zaires manages to infuse an underlying thread of social criticism into her stories: showing the consequences of US military operations on foreign soil and how civilians, especially children become collateral damage in endless wars over geo-political dominance. The way the behavior and overreach of US government agencies at home is portrayed here also calls into question the seemingly clear lines between those who are considered the good guys and bad guys, and ultimately between good and evil.Anna Zaires deservedly is considered one of the pre-eminent writers of dark romance! I hope she will give us more stories like this in the future!

"My stalker. My kidnapper. The love of my life."
My expectations were so high for this 4th and final book’s release that I was a little nervous digging in, and I am thrilled to say that Zaires’ writing (much like Peter’s insatiable lust and stamina throughout this quadrilogy) DID NOT DISAPPOINT in the least!! Forever Mine was everything I was hoping it would be: an action-packed, sexy, thrilling, satisfyingly angsty ride. My only complaint is that I’m left with a major book hangover and jonesing for my next Peter fix. This is a brilliant series from start to finish, and I will be rereading this quadrilogy again... and again... and again...****Spoilers****It's ballsy AF to start a romance where the H waterboards the h and then murders her lawfully wedded broccoli. That's some next level antihero stuff right there. 🎤 The chutzpah award goes to this series for that. I was hooked the moment Peter chopped the broccoli--whose careless actions caused the death of Peter's wife and son and countless other innocents--down to size and then proceeded to lust after Sara, the widow whom he waterboarded for intel.Since book 1 I've been beyond stoked to see how Zaires would pull off such a challenging setup. And pull it off she did--in spades! While I kid about the broccoli and waterboarding, I have to say in all seriousness that over the course of 4 highly satisfying, full-length books in which Peter Sokolov became my book soulmate, Zaires turns what could've been an outlandish storyline into something totally believable through her gift for creating flawed, relatable, beautifully crafted characters (that I'm still hoping might show up and interrupt my dishwashing one evening to play out a few extra deleted scenes I wrote in my head). That's not easy to do. In fact, it's pretty frickin' EPIC.**Lastly, I want to mention that while most fans of this world would argue you should read the Twist Me and Capture Me trilogies first, I think you can start with the Tormentor Mine quadrilogy and enjoy this stellar, delicious series all on its own just fine. Peter and Sara are my favorite couple in this world, with Yulia and Lucas (of Capture Me) holding a close 2nd place. Julian (of Twist Me) was never my jam, and admittedly, I was quietly hoping he'd get killed in this book--or lose another eyeball at least. But we can't always get what we want, and I suppose he was sort of more decent and likable in this book--although it kills me to admit that. 🙄 Okay, fine... Maybe I'll go back and reread Twist Me and give him another chance.5 You-Had-Me-At-Kitchen-Waterboarding Stars!! #PeterIsForeverMine

Complex, multi-dimensional, and memorable
What a perfect conclusion to Peter and Sara's story. I'm still nostalgic. I didn't want it to end! Ms. Zaires has a talent for creating complex, multi-dimensional, and most of all memorable characters. They stay with you long after reading the story. They make you curious. They make you root for them. They make you crave more. This book has it all - nerve-wrenching action, heartache, tension, twists and turns, and the off-the-charts hot, sometimes explosive, sometimes tender, sensual moments only Ms. Zaires can write with her special flair. This series is one of my all-time favorites, and I'm not saying goodbye to Peter and the team. I'll definitely revisit them in more than one re-read.If you like hot, dangerous alphas with sexy accents and strong heroines, this whole series is for you.

2.5 stars - Drawn out series-time to move on
This was one of the most drawn out series I've ever read - to the point where after I read this, I thought, why did I bother? This whole saga was at best a duet (the 3rd book was plain filler) - it took much too long for the author to wrap this up. I never liked Sara all that much, and this book did nothing to make me like her further. She did nothing but doubt Peter - but still she loved him? Doubt equals I don't trust you - without trust, there is no basis for a relationship. The plot was slow and everything was super-contrived and convenient. Adding Julian to the mix did nothing for this book. I think this cast of characters has met its end. Julian and Nora's story was good, but Yulia's story was less captivating, and Sara's was not captivating at all. The author needs to move on and see if she can recapture the spark she created in Twist Me to a new world.

Amazing!!
Couldn't wait to read the conclusion of the love story of Sara and Peter,a couple I love as much as i love Nora & Julian, Yulia & Lucas.. The story has been beautifully written, making it easy to follow the events but also giving you a clear understanding of characters' emotions and thoughts.. Anna ' s stories are never boring, always taking you on a ride with her characters.. In order to have a better idea of what happens in the book, better read the previous 3 books or the first 2 trilogies.. For those who know about Nora &Julian and Yulia & Lucas, will be delighted to find them in "Forever mine".. Truly loved it! Keep up with the good work Anna!

Wow !!!!!!!!!....... what an ending to Peter & Sara’s story
Wow...........!!! What a conclusion to Sara & Peter’s story. At the end of book 3 the unlikely pair had got married his men now working on their own . If he agrees In exchange for dropping his murderous vendetta against the people responsible for slaughter of his first wife, child and most of the residents in their village, he’ll be given a new identity and be allowed to live in the community near Sara’s parents, as it’s only the elusive Henderson outstanding on the list for now Peter agrees .... for now that is .All seems to be going well for the newly weds and they adapt to life together Sara goes back to work and Peter stays at home , it’s only a matter of time though before we learn of Sara’s pregnancy which pleases everyone , even her parents are warming to him . It would seem that the FBI are going back on the deal of leaving Peter alone when it comes to his notice that they are still sniffing around which makes him think that Henderson is probably plotting something as well . When news of a bombing at the FBI office puts Peter on high alert thankfully Peter the bomb was not planted by him but it soon becomes it’s clear someone is trying to frame him . A visit to Sara’s parents home turns rather violent when on the orders of Henderson a Swat team attempt to get Peter . In the ensuing gun battle he’s shot and the unthinkable happens when tragedy strikes Sara and life will change for ever , not able to help her parents now she realises she must do what is unthinkable to get the injured badly Peter away . They go to the a safe house via a hospital when she gets supplies ,but of course she realises she must get extra help for Peter to get them out of danger .After a very tense time she manages to get through to his old team with the help of Lucas Kent they get Peter to the private hospital in Switzerland . After a few days there Peter works out who is behind it and realises that it won’t be long before they catch up with them again . By acting on his instinct Peter & Sara evade capture again but their options of getting to another safe place are not great, eventually they have to go to the one place that Peter knows he won’t get a warm welcome that is to Julian & Nora Esguerra’s place. When he gets there he finds Lucas & Yulia Kent there also it becomes clear that Henderson intends to kill the three of them . Will they be able to get to Henderson before he gets to them ? .... 🤔. All I will say is one heck of a story and the epilogue is perfect 🤗 . These books have been some of the best I’ve read and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading them all.

She done it again!
Just when I think it can’t get any better it does! Yet again I am left bereft, waiting for the next instalment. Anna Zaires is a master of her craft! An incredibly talented story teller, able to weave such astounding characters, plots that twist and turn on a six pence and then leave you high and dry, stranded until the next addictive instalment! 5 full stars though that is still being a bit on the cheap side!!!!!

Endgame
Oh boy, was I looking forward to this! Pre-ordered it, counted down the days until its release, re-read all the previous books, and started reading it 10 minutes after it was released on the 16th!And I'm glad to say that this - this extra long conclusion of the remarkable "Esguerraverse" saga - didn't disappoint.Whilst it keeps things very familiar and too-good-to-be-true in the first part, with Peter and Sara planning their new suburban lives, things inevitably hit the fan as a shocking and horrible event occurs that propels our (anti) heroes into a dangerous and lifealtering journey, reuniting them with several familiar faces. And all of this - the escape and when it falls upon Sara to do so the heavy lifting (literally!) and ensure her and Peter's survival - is highly engrossing, exciting and the ensuing odyssey ensures that you don't want to put the book down. And of course what happens afterwards is also very exciting and the saga moves towards a satisfying and worthy conclusion when Henderson unleashes his master plan. With the negative points, I'd say that Sara's constant reluctance to accept her true feelings following a certain horrific event can get a little annoying, Peter loses some of his dark edge when he begins to handle Sara with kid gloves (sort of like how Julian was in "Hold Me"), and, similar to some of Anna Zaires' other works, a lot of time is spend building up to the final showdown but it all gets resolved in a short space of time. But all in all, though the amount of sex is relatively light, this is the conclusion that we've all been hoping for, it's excellently written, and witnessing the three main couples finally come together makes it all worthwhile.I mean, all six main characters in the same room, a friendship between Sara and Nora (I just KNEW they would get along! Yay!), a proper glimpse of the Esguerras' life with Lizzie, and a grand showdown - it's all I ever wanted! 😊So thank you, Anna for this addictive odyssey and this remarkable literary universe that is escapism at its best.Though now I'm sad that it's all over!

Peter had the potential to be so much more
I fell in love with this series when I read Julian and Nora's story. When Peter was introduced in the series,I could see a great story coming.Unfortunately,I feel the author didn't do his character justice.Peter's story lacked the power and the passion.Considering Julian and Peter had similar personalities , his character had the power to be so much more.I hope the author keeps this in mind, when she writes her next series.
