A must have for whole house filter canister replacement.
This lubricant is essential for the o-ring on the wholehouse filter. I replace the filter every 3 month and put adab on the rubber ring before sealing. The removal of canister is easier and ring lasts for over 10 years versus 3 or 4 replacement filters; as they stretch and lose fitting into rim. Unfortunately the tube of lubricant is the same size but amount in tube of lube is half the amount of what used to be in it for the same price.

Lubri-Film brand of Silicone seems to be genuine, cites regulatory standards on tube& is cheaper other brands & vendors I saw
I bought some other brand while this was in shipment and am comparing the 2: while waiting for this I bought .5 oz. of very overpriced alleged silicone grease at Ace Hardware, which runs like oil and is said to be "food safe" by Ace clerks, but says it is only "90%" silicone on the container and doesn't say what the other 10% is, nor does it say "food safe" on the container or cite any regulatory standards that it meets for being food safe. Needless to say I did not use it to lube any seals in my water system.By comparison, this Haynes "Lubri-Film silicone grease product that I purchased at Amazon is much cheaper (5x cheaper) than the Ace product (or any others for that matter), cites a regulatory standard on the tube, and has the consistency of real silicone grease that I've seen elsewhere, (does not run) and says that it is 100% silicone. It is by far the cheapest I found on the internet or in any local retail hardware stores.

Perfect for flashlights and threads
Works great and doesn’t eat up silicone o-rings. One tube is pretty much a lifetime supply and then some.

A must for pentek filter housings and whole house filtration systems
I just finished installing a complete whole house water filtration system. I used only pentek filters and housings. I'm very happy with the performance of my system and how well it all went together. Here's a breakdown of the all the components I used in my system. I went to great length researching what works and found it wasn't easy going thru each pentek filter and it's function. The goal was to reduce some sediment, iron deposits from old iron pipes and remove any chemical taste. The water tastes great now and is crystal clear.Components:-Pentek Big Blue 20" Filter Housings-Housing Bracket for Big blue 10" and 20" filterFilters IN ORDER:1-Pentek DGD-2501-20 Spun Polypropylene Filter 20 micron dual stage to 1 micron.2-Pentek 155263, RFFE20-BB Radial Flow Iron Removing Filter3-Pentek RFCC-BB Carbon Filteryou can add another Filter after the Carbon for media if you want. Not necessary but is an option or run 2 sediment filters in beginning of the system.-Various copper pipes and PVC pipes to build the system. I highly recommend a bypass valve and a way to shut off the water to your filters if you need to change them without losing water pressure to the house.-I experienced nearly 0 PSI drop thru the 3 filters and no noticeable change in flow rate.

Exactly what I needed
Kitchen sink hand spray needed lubrication (who knew?). This is just the stuff.

Great gasket sealer where it comes in contact with water for drinking.
This is one of those unusual, very function specific that I am happy Amazon carries.I use this lubricant around the rubber gasket of my whole house water filter to prevent leaks. Since the water will come in contact with the gasket, the lubricant used has to be food grade. That is no harmful chemicals that can damage the body. Something that can be safely digested. This is not the kind of product you can locate so easily. Sure, you can find standard gasket lubricant all over but food grade, not so much. This safe lubricant works perfectly. I coat the filter gasket periodically and close the filter. It is easy to spread on the gasket and stays on the gasket after sealed. If someone needs this lubricant for a purpose such as mine, I would highly recommend it, just don't put it on your toothbrush!
