It was fun
We built it over a period of 5 days, little by little. Today everything came together. Only if they could have added wheels to this one, it would have been an amazing toy for kids to play with. I was surprised why they could not add wheels to this.Overall it was a fun project to build with kiddo.

A tedious build but fun use
Overall “good” item. The kid enjoyed the end result for a while. When building the four motors, you place tiny bolts in designated slots but the top cover doesn’t have build in guides/rims to keep bolts in place so you have to squeeeeeeeze until all four screws are on or they will fall out of place inside motor case and you have to undo everything to put the bolts back. And the squeezing can get tiresome. You can’t press the motor down on a table because there are “pegs” build in on opposite side of the screw inserts. Maybe place a towel but you have to firmly close the case or those bolts escape.Very loud motors, very limited range and very strong, broke servals crayons. This is perfect for a small time fun.

Total Garbage
Thanks for ruining Christmas, OWI!We're very much a family of DIY Makers and have built many things over the years, both from kits and from scratch. So what follows is not from a lack of knowledge or skill. It's just because this kit is poorly designed crap. Our kids were very excited when they fully the sets this year. The only problem is, it's not actually possible to make it past the first part of the instructions. We tried countless times with both sets to get the gearbox assembled, but as soon as you try to tighten the screws, one or more of the tiny metal nuts get pulled inside by the magnetized motor and stick to it. We spent over one hour trying to get even one of these gearboxes together. Everyone's angry, no one wants to finish, and the kits will be used for parts. It's a shame the designers couldn't have added little tabs to hold little parts like the metal nuts in place.

Weak clamp
We used this on a science friend fir my son. It comes completely disassembled and once you get it together, the clamping mechanism is VERY weak.

Not easy to assemble poorly designed
This project requires you to place four nuts in slots that you must use later during assembly process these don't stay in place must disassemble to fix have taken apart twice now wouldn't buy again....

Not for kids
The gears are flimsy plastic. I got it together after several hours however the arm would bind and fail without even grabbing anything weighted. The idea is good, the quality is trash.

It's 5 DOF. I would expect 6 DOF with such a great unit.
If it had advertised 5 DOF, I wouldn't have bought it I'm going to add my own wrist rotation section.. Otherwise it's very well made . It's missing wrist rotation.Any good mechanical arm has 6 Degrees Of Freedom. This has 5.
