Perfect for very close work. I needed this for threading my sewing machine needle after cataract surgery and it is a very handy item - the lights are bright, the magnification is excellent, it is ergonomic to use and sturdy.HIghly recommended and I expect to be happy with it for a long time to come.

I am 80 years but I still have good eyesight except for the smaller, lighter print or on colored background which does not provide good contrast and some of which seems designed to make it difficult to read. I have reading glasses & the magnifier app on my iPhone but sometimes I need a little more. Reading glasses are good except for the small, light fine print & the camera on the iPhone is off center so I am always searching for my target but it is handy. I have a couple of the Acrylic lens magnifiers which are advertised as good as glass but they are not. They are usually unclear & easily scratched so I wanted a lens of real glass but they often come from scientific firms & cost Big Bucks. This Real Glass magnifier matches my needs.**This 30X magnifying glass is heavy & bulky with a wide handle so it could be a task to use for long periods of time but the image is Clear, the 30X magnification much, much better than anything from the big box store, you are looking right through the Large lens so no issue finding what you want to enlarge, the 12 White LED lights provide bright, even lighting & the lens is Real Glass. I think magnification comes from having 2 lens a distance apart rather than a single solid lens but IT WORKS.**The switch is a large convenient slide switch which is easy to operate. This item is so inexpensive that I have to question it's durability because it is so inexpensive but so far I have no other reason to believe that it will not be durable. It uses 2 AA batteries & the battery compartment is easy to access. The lights are LED so 2 AA batteries should last quite some time & the lights themselves should last a long time. It comes in a somewhat thin plastic bag with a flap which will be resealable for a few dozen times which is inside of a fairly sturdy cardboard box. I store it back inside of both but I wish they had an option for a cloth bag or an easy open, lined hard-shell case such as eyeglasses often come in. From the picture I had thought the white plastic might look cheap but in reality the white with a wide black band around the lens on top looks nice.**I am likely to buy a couple more to keep in different locations since it is not the most portable of items. I definitely recommend this 30X REAL GLASS magnifier to anyone who needs such & it is inexpensive enough that even if you don't "need" but just want one, it is a good buy.

The best feature of this magnifying glass is the light. It not only helps in low-light situations, but also, as a general matter, simply makes whatever is being viewed easier to see. For all of its size, however, it has limited utility as a tool to aid in reading. It is too small to take in an entire page, and is best used for targeted tasks. That said, it provides sufficient magnification to work in most applications. I've used it repeatedly since I bought it.

Bought this for my husband who is visually impaired. It's a bit on the heavy side, but the light and magnification are a definite help. He's happy I bought it for him. Just be prepared for a heavier feel. I do recommend it.

IT IS A VERY, VERY GOOD ITEM. EASY TO TURN LIGHT OFF AND ON, EASY TO PICK UP WITH ONE HAND WHILE THE OTHER HAVD MAY BE HOLDING THE ITEM YOU ARE TRYING TO SEE CLEARLY. THE STRENGTH OF THE MAGNIFICATION IS JUST RIGHT FOR MY EYESIGHT. VERY EASY TO USE AND EXTREMELY HANDY BEING BATTERY OPERATED.

Lens is absolutely not 30x. More like 3x. It seems like all the magnifying glasses lie about their strength though. The lights are far to dim to be useful, so I removed the batteries. If you need a magnifier with lights, this is not the product what you want.

I checked out several magnifiers before buying this one. Actually buying it with no intention of using the led lights on the underside, but thinking they may come in handy sometime. Little did I realize that the day I received it, I put batteries in started looking at all sorts of things with the lights!!! The lights are fantastic.I would recommend this magnifying glass with led lights to anyone. It seems to be very good quality, easy to use and read with, the magnification is clear and the the lens is bigger than I expected.
