Marantz Professional PMD-326C | Commercial CD Player with Remote Control and USB and 3.5mm Aux Inputs

This is an awesome unit. The disc loads quickly which is why I prefer this style over trays. It's compact and low profile. The sound is good and overall the unit is solid. I have tried several other competing units but sent them back. I like this one the best. It is also resonably priced considering the additional USB and Aux inputs - a nice feature. Some minor annoyances are limited connection outputs (no digital) and the display is a bit crowded and a bit difficult to read. The text display only lasts one song and then turns off. Although these issue can in some cases be a deal breaker, I found that overall they were not an issue at all since I like the unit so much. Although I use this in my home because of it low profile, this is after all a commercial unit so I suspect there are reasons that this unit is a bit different from home units. I couldn't be happier.

I purchased this to replace an early 90's Sony ES player that finally failed. This player is well-constructed and has a high quality feel, and it has rack ears and a removable IEC cable which is nice too. The loading mechanism works very well, and the player reads and cues up quickly. There are lots of buttons to push and for the most part it all functions very well. The sound quality seems okay to me so far...acceptable I suppose, but it seems to lack the transparency of my ES player and the Cambridge Topaz I have. I checked specification for this Marantz after hooking it up and listening for a while, and sure enough, the specs are way below CD player even from 30 years ago??!!...they match a crappy car player or a cheap portable cd player. It makes no sense to me...S/N ration, dynamic range, freq. response, etc., all very crappy compared to pretty much anything you could find that is designed as a component cd player. I wonder if they just used an off-the-shelf cd player form a car system since it was compact and used the tray-less loading slot? i have no idea, but if you can live with all of that, it's a good unit for non-demanding audio reproduction. For a DeeJay, a second system, etc. it's ideal.

I have been a professional DJ for over 20 years and this is one of the best "investments" I have made in equipment. It so far exceeded my expectations in every way I am running around my shop singing to every CD I pop in. It is solid! Super Fast! Simple! Professional Quality in all aspects and is 100% + for my needs as a mobile DJ building a new mobile rack. I had some basic questions about this unit before purchase and ALL of my concerns have been covered FLAWLESSLY. Countdown timer is "super-simple and obvious." The front load design is super fast and has a good solid feel to it. I was concerned about differences between tray load and slot load and this unit has "proven" a slot load is just fine and will have less exposed parts for that backyard party with wet kids playing with super soakers and dad spilling beer all over... did I mention dust and dirt... I am absolutely over-joyed to the N-th degree with this Marantz PMD-326C. The price point is an absolute "give-a-way!" This unit could be priced near $1000 and still be a great deal! I am truly amazed! If you do not see a follow up from me you will know it is continuing to work flawlessly... Only had the Marantz in my studio a few weeks but already love it. Very easy to use and remote good to use.

Great CD Player. CD's load fast, tracks start playing fast after pressing play. No Delays whatsoever! Great Pause and jump to another track capability. Totally ignore that other review that complains about the unit always going back to track 1. Just don't press stop! Use Pause. This IS the easiest to operate CD player I've ever used. Having both RCA and XLR connections make it super easy to connect to consumer system or pro system. Buying a 2nd unit for another installation!

Track selection does not work from the remote; and it's a model defect. The description of this item says that there is "10-key direct track access," however from the remote, you can only select the track you want once (except track one); and only if "Power On Play" mode is disabled. If, for instance, you play track 8 right after inserting the CD, you CANNOT (after playing track 8) select track 6 and play it from the remote. Once you hit stop, the player will play track 1 no matter what track number you select. In order to play track 6 directly, you have to eject the CD and reinsert it (with "Power On Play" disabled). To be sure I wasn't just ignorant of the process, I called Marantz tech assistance and asked about this. The tech said he had dealt with this question before and, yes, you have to reinsert the CD in order to numerically select a track other than track one. This defeats the purpose for which I bought the item. I will be returning it. I will say that the item looks sturdy and well built. If they were to correct this glitch, I would likely change my opinion.

A robust CDP that has usable features. Well constructed and musical. Took somewhat of a risk in purchasing. Was trying to find out the DAC chipset used, but no information available, including phoning the company. They would not provide information as to the type of chip used, nor would they provide a reason, a bit strange. At any rate it is a great player. Maybe I will take it apart sometime to find out what the DAC chip is.

Prodotto di qualità superiore, molto semplice per un uso anche domestico. Arrivato con un giorno di anticipo, l'ho subito messo in funzione econfrontato con i driver del mio computer. Non c'é paragone! Brilla per ricchezza e fedeltà di suono. Ma attenzione: l'uscita è molto alta e bisogna stare attenti alle casse. Non smanettate in alto con l'equalizzatore, altrimenti potete bruciare i tweeter! Acquisto riuscito!

Marantz beschreibt den Player ganz nüchten als zuverlässigen, hochwertigen Dauerläufer zur Beschallung in Kneipern und Hotelfoyers. Sonst erfährt man (leider) nicht mehr. In der Hifianlage macht er aber ebenfalls bei mir eine gute Figur, nimmt wenig Platz weg und ist vollständig über die Front komfortabel bedienbar. Der Klang ist ausgesprochen neutral mit präzisem Bass, ausgewogenen und detailreichen Mitten und klarem Hochton. Attacke und Dynamik wird jederzeit bereitgestellt wenn die Musik es verlangt. Stimmen und akustische Instrumente werden detailliert, authentisch mit korrekten Klangfarben wiedergegeben. Hinzukommt das der Player praktisch kein Laufgeräusch von sich gibt. CD's werden sehr schnell eingezogen und zügig eingelesen. Die Skiptasten sind durch einen Dreh-Druck Knopf ersetzt worden der eine sehr schnelle Anwahl ermöglicht wie überhaupt das Gerät flott auf Eingaben reagiert. Das Gehäuse ist ordentlich verarbeitet, alles ist aus Metall. Die Tasten am Gerät haben haben eine griffige gummierte Oberfläche.Negativ ließe dich die geschrumpfte Fernbedienung und das nur aus der Nähe zu gebrauchende Display, genauso wie auch der fehlende Digitalausgang anführen. Die FB selbst überzeugt aber rein funktional und steuert zuverlässig, ohne das man "zielen" muss. Die Rackohren lassen sich bei Bedarf einfach abschrauben.Das Gerät gibt es sehr bauähnlich von Denon Professional mit schwarzer Frontplatte und weisser Schrift (DN 300C).

Wer einen reinen CD/mp3 player sucht, ist hier mit dem Kauf gut beraten.Keine Schnörkel und grellen Lichter an der Front, Symetrisch-Audio out, und dierekte Titelanwahl.Das Navigieren in den Untermenues ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, geht aber nach einiger Zeit auch gut von der Hand.
