Yes it will. Ensure you get the clay and body work wet in the area you are claying

No this does not remove light scratches or swirls it removes any contaminents sitting on top of or embedded into the clear coat. (also tar spots really well). It does prepare the area well for the next stages of compounds that you mentioned. Claying is best done after washing and drying the car.

I don't think it has a sell by date, but it does store well as long as it is in the box

Q: My mini jcw has miniprotect finish can i still use the clay bar for an even better result?

Yes you can but as you are working through the layers you should finish with wash and wax to seal the paint for protection
