No instructions but fit perfectly on Midwest 5 gal gas cans
Bought 2 Midwest 5 gal gas cans from the local farm/tractor store (cheaper than anywhere else, including here). Didn't like what the farm store had for converting the nozzles from the "save me from myself" type, to real world, get 'er done nozzles, so I bought these and they fit without issue.A couple notes: The reviewer stating and showing that the cap(s) were too small for the end of the nozzle wasn't using the correct cap. The cap shown in the review is a vent cap, not a nozzle cap. You can tell because it had a ring attached via a small inch/inch and a half strap that's molded part of it. That's a vent cap that some gas cans use, as they come with a threaded vent for that cap to attach to. It's actually a replacement cap that you get in the package. That said, the cap that comes in the package for the nozzle fits perfectly, and only requires installing the rubber seal that goes inside of it. In the package you receive 2 small rubber seals. One has a larger outer diameter than the other, and is the nozzle cap seal. The small diameter one is the seal for the 'snap in' vent that you install if you need it, and goes over the stem before you snap it into a hole you drill. I did not try the small seal in the screw on vent cap to see if it fit, as I used the snap in type vent.To install the snap in vent, I first located an area on the back, top side opposite of the nozzle that would be above the gas when full. I recommend not putting it in the center of the can, as there's a seam there from production. I offset mine to the right of that seam, where there is a flat area. I first drilled a small pilot hole with a 1/8" bit, then drilled the main hole with a 5/16" bit. If you do it with that flat area facing down and use low RPMs, the shavings won't go in the can. Install the seal over the stem, close the cap onto the vent, insert it in the hole and push firmly with your palm. It should snap right in, and having the cap closed it won't dig into your hand as bad.The other main note I want to mention is that I bought the 2 piece kit. My concern was that the picture on this listing showed getting 2 nozzles, but only 1 set of the other parts (the 2 styles of vents, the 2 styles of main nozzle caps to hold the nozzle to the can, and 1 nozzle cap). My kit came with 2 of everything...enough to do 2 cans.Lastly, the nozzle itself is flexible but the ribs are sturdy enough that they won't compress like an accordion. The thickness of the plastic is more than others I've seen, like the clear accordion ones. These seem to be better and I hope they'll last longer. We'll see.

Great price
I needed a replacement spout for a gas can - this does a more than adequate job. The parts are not super sturdy but, for the price and our level of usage, these are perfect.

Works great except for the vents
These Spouts fix what our government screwed up. Only issue I have is with the plastic vents. I’ve had these before and after a while they simply will not stay closed. Fixed this with a package of metal vents. Now I have the perfect gas cans!

Straight forward
I picked up some 5 gal. 'Midwest' brand gas cans at tractor supply to go with this purchase as they are the cheapest, you'll find. I drilled out the rear of the plastic can with the 5/16 drill bit. It's possible to get plastic chunks down inside - which I didn't, but prior I used some pliers to remove the inside perforated sleeve that comes with these cans. Also note, that you won't need anything from the original spout parts that come with the can, just throw them away. If you buy two gas cans, then select the 2-piece kit on here.Update: 8-3-24The spouts started leaking when dispensing into the UTV gas tank, on both cans. I troubleshooted over a couple of weeks of use and kept trying to re-seat the gasket that's inside the nozzle and cap. After yet again dripping gas on the concrete slab in the garage I located a spare kit and compared the washers. It turns out that unlike any other washer / O ring seal, that these ones that are made for gas cans have a cut out center to them. After closer examination I realized that they slip on and over the plastic spout 'ring' at the bottom vs. above it. Once I adjusted for this, the caps screwed on nice and snug again. I have yet to refill the cans and to observe any new leaks but I imagine they won't now.Correction: 10-16-24 even after purchasing a separate order of just gaskets these just misalign as soon as you tighten down the cap, and then of course they leak by dripping all over the garage floor from the base of the spout while attempting to fill the tank. They worked for a little while when I first purchased and installed these spouts but now I can't get them to stop leaking and its all due to the gasket not staying seated inside.
