I’m torn on this horse. On one hand, the horse looks GREAT, like really life-like. Everything is proportional to a live horse and you can tell a lot of time and effort was put into sculpting the molds. It’s a work of art, in my opinion. Some reviews mentioned the horse won’t stand—mine does and it seems to stand quite solidly.However, the paint used on the horse has a weird metallic tint to it. Also, I noticed the paint was chipping off the horse even before I took it out of the packaging. If the paint won’t stand up to storage and shipping, then it certainly won’t stand up to wear-and-tear from children. Because the horse was made to be proportional to a real horse, the legs are quite skinny and easily bent. I bent them a few times and they resumed their original position, but I do wonder about their long-term durability if children repeatedly bent them.Even with these reservations, I’m going to keep this horse. I was planning on giving it to young children (5 yo and younger), but I think I will wait until they are a little older and not so hard on toys.I was planning on buying more CollectA horses because they are much more life-like than the Schleich horses, but given the above concerns, I’m not going to anymore. If the paint durability issue is ever resolved, I would definitely buy more.*UPDATE*Horse no longer stands on its own and the paint is in terrible shape. Underneath the thin, easy to scrape off paint is a ghastly white. I’m really disappointed how this toy turned out. The Schleich toys, however, have minimal wear to the paint and all still stand up. You get what you pay for, I guess.I would not recommend this toy to anyone.

Beautifully made. More durable than a Breyers horse and a more detailed than a Schleich horse, but the Schleich horses are a little more durable. I bought the Collecta grulla mustang mare and the palomino Tennessee Walker stallion for my 2 year old and 1 year old daughters. The horses have held up so far, but I do have to remind my daughters to be gentle because the mare's leg bends a little when they get too rough.
