this saved my fish’s lives
first of all, I do not usually leave reviews.. but I just wanted to put this out here in case anyone else finds himself in a similar situation and aren’t sure what to do. I have very large South American cichlids in an outdoor pond and naturally sometimes they fight. Anytime I see anyone with any injuries I always dose the pond with this bc it’s safe for the other fish and the plants in there. It’s essentially harmless to use and can pretty much only help. I’ve used this probably dozen times for small injuries and never had any problems. This particular time was a true test of its efficacy. Two of my adult cichlids had the worst wounds I’ve seen in any of my tanks. A blood parrot was missing like a third of their jaw/face from locking jaws with someone and getting their face bitten, and a different fish had what looked like a stab mark (??) that was like almost a full inch long with some weird opaque white stuff coming out of it 😭 These 2 fish don’t bother each other at all so it may have been a coincidence idk but it was such a nightmare and I did not think either of them would come back from their wounds. I considered euthanizing them, but honestly, I didn’t have any way to actually euthanize fish that size.. so I ordered a couple bottles of this overnight and prayed for the best. It says it’s safe to double the dose so I did and within three days, the fishes face grew back almost perfectly and the other fish with the stab wound already had a visible closed scar. I was so impressed (and thrilled!!) It says it has colloids that bind to exposed proteins in wounds, and after my personal experience and consulting some experts online, I truly believe this product does what it says, and is worth every penny.

Great when adding new fish
I generally only use this when I'm introducing new fish, but it does work to help them acclimate without the risk of high stress causing them distress.

One of the best water additives out there
I have a 55 gallon with some questionable stocking.... see, about 7ish years ago, my mother bought me a mysterious fish that I would later identify as a tiger loach. I freaking love the dude. I really need 5 more of them so he can live out the rest of his days with his own kind and be happy, but I have never seen another of his specific kind (Syncrossus Helodes) ... Because of this, he's kind of a cranky guy (I don't blame him, i know it's my fault, I'm a monster, but dammit I've been trying to find him buddies ever since I was finally able to identify what kind of loach he is, which took me YEARS, so cut me some slack por favor)ANYWAYS sometimes when he's feeling particularly jerky he'll hunt my guppies... not relentlessly or anything (they're not living in fear), just a chomp on the tail to those who dare swim too close to his cavern (he does it to my giant 9ish year old pleco as well, to no effect, but i also catch those 2 sleeping together with the loach layed out all awkwardly on his side on top of the pleco...). This results in the *occasional* chunk of guppy tail fin missing... this stuff helps the healing process so much. I'll see improvement same day and new growth the next day. When I dose my tanks with this, the guppies will rush over to the bluish cloud, shimmying directly through it. If they could, I'm sure they would cheer. They love how it makes their slime coat extra slimey and coating (I assume, based on my interpretation of the sign language we've developed together over time)

Recommended to Me by a Friend
This Stressgaurd was recommended to me by a friend when I bought my fish tank. The fish were lethargic or glass surfacing due to stress or the new environment. They said this is an additive (non-toxic) you can put in the water to make them relax. When I first ordered it, it came in a box with other items and didn't have a plastic cap so the seal got broken and spilled inside the box. Amazon was nice enough to replace it and the second bottle ALSO came with no cap but the seal was intact (I've received other bottles like this for my aquarium and none of them have caps for some reason...). I will say that the Stressgaurd does work; you can instantly see a change in the fish. Now, the label says you can't "overdose" the fish with this but I would be careful about how much and how frequent you use it. I try to limit it to twice a week, if needed. The stress guard creates a type of film in the water (like a water coat) so over using it can cause a bad water balance. Also, the liquid is blue and will dye the aquarium pieces and tubing just so you know.
