Good drill press for the price
I bought this for my custom knifemaking projects to primarily drill straight holes and it does exactly that. The heavy solid construction is very nice I had to secure it to my workbench with two screws as recommended in the manual. I really cant find any negatives about this drill press. It is a little louder than I expected but that's OK. For the price I paid for it it seems to be a good quality machine.

Pretty great so far!
I needed one of these drill presses for my workbench, and this one is pretty great so far! If i had to compare between this drill press or say a DeWalt or Rigid as a 5 star item, then this in my mind would be a solid 4 stars! So far I have not had any issues with this yet, but I have yet to put it through some strenuous projects, only a drill here and there. but no complaints!

Great drill press. All pre-setup.
Great smaller drill press. The drill and structure is great. Accuracy comes along with accuracy. I am using this to drill organized holes in pipe. Everything was easy to setup. Quality of components is great.

Rough appearance & adjustments, but performance is great!
Bonvoisin Mini Benchtop Drill PressI ordered this drill press to because I figured it would be more convenient than my large industrial grade press for quick fixes on smaller projects. The finish on this drill press is a bit rough, (mostly cosmetic and some greasy fingerprints, but also including a few damaged teeth on the chuck) at first I thought I had retrieve a slightly used and returned press, but on closer examination I believe it is only rough handling at the assembly plant.Height adjustments are inconvenient, requiring adjusting 3 allen screws, as opposed to my larger model that has a convenient crank handle to quickly & easily adjust the height.Performance was very good, on par with my larger industrial grade press. For better rating, I borrowed a neighbor's table top press, and compared it with this model. Here too the neighbors won for convenience of operation, but in the performance test using the same gauge metal and the same drill bit, this one blew his out of the water! This model drilled though the metal like it was a wooden 2x4, with my neighbor's press I was drilling away for at least 5x as long until I got fed up and finished the piece with this drill! For me it is too early to tell if it is a keeper, performance is good, but I may not find they extra labor required for adjustments worth messing with over my larger press.Despite initial disappointments, When compared to my neighbor's model (for performance) it is clearly better so...3.5 starsExplaining my rating system:5 - a superior product - I would highly recommend4 - above average – a great choice3 - average – what one might generally expect2 - below average – I would advise seeking an alternative1- Horrible – a waste of your valuable money - avoid if at all possible

Cheap Garbage
This machine is the second one. The first one I sent back, because after about 10 minutes the off/on didn't work anymore. I could not switch the machine off anymore. I returned it. The new one I can't even plug into the 110V outlet! And a nut was missing. The box was taped all around, but inside no screw.

Better than expected.
This thing is surprisingly cool. I took out one of the retractor springs because they’re a little bit too much to fight against for the length of the levers. The dovetailed ways this moves up and down on are nice and snug and it’s a viable tool for fairly precise work.I feel like I could realistically mill plastic with a cross table or a better vice. Maybe really light aluminum stuff with an end mill up to 3/8” and really light passes.Things that are worth pointing out- this thing spins pretty fast in drill press terms. It seems like it has the torque to spin a decent diameter bit or cutter but the vise isn’t solid enough to stop chatter with a multi flute cutter that’s got back relief and is spinning faster than would be ideal. It’s cool it comes with a vise which is adequate for really basic holding, as in stopping a thing from spinning. The moving jaw has no real hold down mechanism except for the slide rail it’s captive to so a work piece could easily be pulled up enough for a bit to get jammed up and pull the piece up even more if you try to put a 1/2” drill bit into a piece of metal. The Wen 3” vice they sell here is also surprisingly decent has an opposing keeper plate to hold the moving jaw down and there is no guide rail right in the way of the center so you can put a bit through something with some extra room to play with, like if you had a countersink on a wood bit for a 2 or 3” screw and didn’t want to move it just to put a hole through a 1” piece of wood. So that vice or something comparable is something one might as well buy at the same time if they’ll be doing anything serious enough for uplift to be a concern.I’m also a big fan of using stubby lathe center drills that only have one flute in a case like this where the revs are higher than they ought to be. They can’t bounce from point to point on two cutting edges in the hole they’re creating. You can get them in 45 or 60 degree angles. It’s about as noisy as a disc grinder or any other tool with gear reduction which doesn’t really bother me but it’s definitely not like a belt driven drill press you could walk away from and forget is running if you got distracted.Definitely worth the price based on experience so far.
