I would not trust it to work on a rail only 2 inches wide. However, if you know any young guys - 17-21 y/o - they will do almost anything on a dare! Have one of them try it out in a non-emergency scenario. If this young lad survives, then you know you are probably okay. But seriously, I'd have to have a trial run done, before I would depend on with my life (or someone else's.) Hope this helps.
